Well, another successful challenge. What did you notice during the challenge?
I noticed that I was more sensitive to sugar. Because I cut out pasta and most carbs, every time I ate something with sugar (either added or natural) it would seem super sweet to me.
I also noticed that because I was so focused on the benefits and the reasons why I was changing my lifestyle, I didn't have a hard time staying away from unhealthy foods even when others ate food around me that I couldn't eat.
The great thing is that I finally got to the point of eating more often throughout the day and eating smaller portions. I had more energy, great sleep and felt amazing throughout the day.
Oh, let's talk about two outcomes that I am really excited about. First, I got my cycle! Most wouldn't think that's something to be happy about but as I've said before, it's a sign that my body is regulating itself. Second, I dropped a couple of pants sizes! Yay!!! I went from a size 18 in jeans to a size 14. I dropped a bra size too. The added bonus is that I lost weight as well. When I started I was 210. I really wanted to get out of the 200s and I came very close. My current weight toggles between 202 & 203. That's not bad and I'm very happy about the progress.
What's next? I'm continuing with my new eating regimen. Yep, low to no carbs, no fried foods, lots of fruits and veggies, water, tea (no soda), baked / grilled chicken, fish & turkey. I've been researching pescetarianism which means the only meat would be fish and other sea food but I'm not too sure about that yet. I have an appointment with my doctor to discuss it from a pros and cons perspective.
I just want to say thank you to those who joined me during this challenge and sent emails encouraging me along the way. You all are amazing and I appreciate the support!
Here is a pic in my size 14 jeans and in a size 16 dress that is now too big (as you can kinda see from looking at how loose fabric looks).
