Tip Two: Demonstrate Forgiveness (LET IT GO)
Have you ever prayed about something and it seems as if your prayers don’t get answered? Mark 11:25 says that before we ask God for anything, we need to show forgiveness towards anyone who we are holding a grudge against. Why is this important in your marriage? You & your husband will have disagreements, your feelings may even get hurt and as women we often hold on to the pain and allow it to intensify. Just LET IT GO! Holding on to the pain, anger and resentment can manifest itself in other ways & in other areas of your life. Remember we previously talked about communication (click here)? Well, I came to the realization that majority of the time my pain and anger was all based on a misunderstanding. That’s why it’s important to talk it out and demonstrate forgiveness within your marriage even if you feel as though your husband doesn’t deserve it. And you don’t have to wait for him to apologize in order to forgive him!
You’ve been praying for God to bless your marriage, praying for love, affection, understanding & you need a miracle in your life. God wants to give you the desires of your heart; He wants to bless you. God is not causing your miracle and blessing to be delayed, it’s the unforgiveness that you’ve allowed to take root in your heart. When you can truly began to demonstrate forgiveness, your marriage will reap the benefits!
Heavenly father, I worship you and thank you for forgiving me of all of my faults and wrongdoings. So today farther, I need Your help. Teach me how to forgive my husband even in those moments of intense fellowship when I feel that he doesn’t deserve my forgiveness. I show my love for my husband by demonstrating forgiveness. I agree with Your word and know that whatever I desire when I pray, as long as I believe that I receive it then I shall have it. So father, I forgive those that have wronged me. I will live a life that demonstrates forgiveness because you have forgiven me. And because I walk in forgiveness, I decree and declare that those petitions that I have submitted to You concerning my marriage have been granted and I praise You in advance for it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
